[PitchRate] Happy ending in the diner of broken dreams

Hey Kyle,

You know those times when you're listening to yourself talk to another person, and even YOU are tired of your own story?

I know you know what I'm talking about!

So, I'm sitting in a diner in LA. Their claim to fame is that they haven't locked their doors in, like, 100 years, and I'm telling my friend Heather why I haven't written my book.

(You should know that Heather is a book writing master. Not only has she written her own bestsellers, she has ghostwritten for some heavy hitters - and, to top it off, she's an incredible coach!)

I knew she wasn't buying my story. But I was giving her my best song and dance...

"I am so busy running my companies."
"I have so many ideas I can't narrow them down into a book"
And my personal favorite: "I'm not a writer. I'm more of a speaker."

Yada, yada, yada...

What I love about Heather is that she won't buy my "stuff" (G-rated). She just looked at me and said, "Writing a book is easy."

"What??? Are you crazy?"

She said, "You're just looking at it all wrong." And then she threw my best excuse back at me. "Writing a book is all about communication, not writing, right? When you are writing a book, all you're doing is having a conversation. So, all you need to do is figure out who you're talking to and what you want to say."

A light bulb went off!

Heather continued, "It's just like when you have a conversation. You don't tell the person everything in that one conversation, do you?"

It was that conversation in the LA diner that started me down the path of FINALLY writing my book!

And if YOU are asking yourself, "Should I write a book, and why?" you need to stay tuned.

Standing by...

Cheers!
Drew

P.S. ~ In the next email, I am going to go over a case study that demonstrates why write a book.
