Just because I have been around the PR block a few times doesn't mean that I am old. It just means that I am wise, right? (Work with me here.) A common question on my trips around the block is "Do I need a book?" But, it leads to other questions. If you want to be an author, it makes sense to have a book, right? <Wink> But, what if you want to be a speaker, or an expert? The simple answer is YES! A book is the new calling card. A book establishes you as an expert. This is especially true for the media. They are always looking for the best experts. So how do they choose? And why should they choose YOU? Well, if you have a book, you stand out. It's as simple as that. One of my all-time favorite clients is Dr. Matthew B. James, who is a great example of this. Dr. James is President of The Empowerment Partnership, where he serves as a master trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a practical behavioral technology for helping people achieve their desired results in life. When we started working together, the Wasabi team scored him a lot of media placements. It was great, but they weren't at the level I really wanted for him. His book was the spring board that landed him placements with venues like Fox News, Hollywood Confidential, Insights Magazine, CNN, HLN, San Diego Living, Woman's World, and many, many more. To summarize: If you want to stand out and land top tier media, you need a book. I know, I know - I hear ya! Not sure where to begin? You say you're too busy? Blah, blah, blah!
