Heather told me I'm crazy (which I can't argue with). She says that writing the book is the easy part - but promoting a book is the challenge! That's true... only if you write a book nobody wants to read. I don't mean to go all wise sage on you, but most people only think about PR AFTER they write their book. But best-selling authors use PR to find out what their target audience wants even before they start to write their book. Otherwise, it's like a restaurant serving their customers before they take their order, right? If they're lucky, they might get it right a few times, but mostly they are going to be serving their customers a tuna sandwich when they wanted a chicken salad sandwich, or serving a chicken salad sandwich to a vegetarian. Awkward! If you want a successful book, you must find out what your target audience wants BEFORE you even start writing your book. How do you do that? Easy - PR! An easy way to do this is to find out what the media that serves your target market wants. Then, YOU know what your target market wants! Cheers! Drew "May I Take Your Order?"
