The secret formula to a book writing itself... I'm not a big fan of salesy emails. It was even hard to write that. So let me reword it for you... The insight (Heather sparked) that changed my perspective so writing my book was easier and enjoyable. How's that? Did your interest peak? Since Heather didn't buy what I was trying to sell her at the diner (if you are lost, go back to my last "happy ending at the diner of broken dreams" email and catch up), I decided I would FINALLY write my book - something that I had been saying I was going to do for over 7 years. When I shared this with my staff, they just looked at me, smiling and nodding their heads in that "OMG, do we really have to listen to this again?" way. You know what I'm talking about. So when I sat down to write my book, all those familiar feelings came flooding back - confusion, frustration, and the feeling of being completely overwhelmed. So I called Heather to let her know that she was wrong. Writing a book was NOT easy. Heather listened patiently while I explained why she was wrong. She then asked me a question, "Why are you writing this book?" So I began to tell her all the reasons why somebody should have a book - credibility, to score great media placements, blah, blah, blah. You know - all the reasons I tell my PR clients about why THEY should have a book. She said, "No. Why are YOU writing THIS book?" And it stopped me in my tracks. "Well, I'm writing this book to help entrepreneurs get unstuck." There it was. There was the "A HA!" Heather then held my hand through some very powerful exercises that not only gave me clarity, but - TA DA - my book began to unfold right before my eyes! Everyone must know about Heather!
